In order for us to be Covid-Secure, we have put in some measures that we would like to make you aware of to prepare and relax you ready for your next visit. Rest assured whilst this will be the new normal for the foreseeable, we will continue to strive in providing you with the very best Evolve experience you know and love.
We currently are continuing to work through booking appointments that had to be cancelled during the lockdown. As I’m sure you can appreciate this proves to be a lengthly process, but each day we are closer to contact each and every one of you, and we appreciate your patience. We are aiming to get guests booked in as quick as possible, but do anticipate there to be a wait for appointments as we work through, We know you love your regular stylist, but remember we you always have the option to utilise one of the many talented stylists at Evolve. This could allow us to get you booked in sooner.
To allow the team to be able to fulfil their working hours, while having a limited number of team working at any one time, they will be working split shifts. You may find your stylist is working some very different hours. We will be open for longer and more days a week to accommodate. Please be aware of this if you are trying to book and find the new hours are challenging for you.
To minimise the potential loss of valuable stylists time, you will be required to make a deposit. This will be taken by the front of house team via telephone the week prior to your appointment. When you receive your appointment reminder you will be asked to phone the salon to make payment, securing your booking. Any appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will unfortunately mean the deposit will be lost.

When in the salon you must continue to wear a single use face mask which will be provided. We continue to use single use disposable towels and have also implemented the use of single use gowns.The use of single use personal protective equipment will help to protect you and others within the salon.
PPE is necessary, and we cannot under any circumstances operate without it. This is a huge additional cost to Evolve, whilst also having the salon itself open and running for more hours and days obviously comes with a price. Stylists will also have to allow additional time for a thorough clean their each working station after every appointment. We will therefore be adding a PPE surcharge to all appointments. We hope you understand.

As you are aware we have a strict skin allergy testing policy. If you have not had a colour service at the salon within a 6 month period you will be required to visit the salon 48 hours prior to your colour appointment. If a colour service has been performed In a 6 month period you are permitted to use a colour start allergy tattoo transfer. Please ensure this is not past the best before date, if this is the case please contact the salon to arrange to pick up a new tattoo transfer. If you attend your appointment without following either of the rules above your colour service will not be performed and you will lose your deposit for the colour service. Colour disclaimers can no longer be used as a replacement to either rule.
We will only be using stylist sections that are socially distanced apart, each usable section will be divided by a screen to protect you from others. 2 stylists will be working on the first floor and 2 stylists on the second following social distancing measures at all times. To protect you and your stylist you will be required to wear a disposable face mask, which will be provided, at all times and your stylist will be wearing a protective face shield. When manoeuvring around the salon we request that you respect the social distancing guidelines at all times to protect yourself and others around you.
When arriving for your appointment you will be required to wait outside until your stylist is ready, no waiting area will be available in the salon. Please arrive promptly and remain socially distant with others. We have staggered appointment times as much as possible to limit the amount of guests arriving at any one time. One the front of house team will meet you outside where you will have your temperature taken and documented. You will then be invited into salon, where you will be taken to a sanitising station, asked to use the anti bacterial hand gel provided and be provided with a disposable face mask. You will be seated ready for your stylist. We do ask that you limit the amount of personal items being brought into the salon to the necessity’s to avoid the risk of cross contamination, a small sanitised box will be provided for personal belongings to be placed in for the duration of your appointment. If you wish to bring reading material to your appointment you are more than welcome too, magazines will not be available in the salon. We ask you to pay by card, rather than the use of cash.
Please also bring a pen to your appointment as you will be required to sign a consent form upon entry.
Toilets will be out of use unless for exceptional circumstances, where they will be sanitised after use. If you do need to use the facilities please inform your stylist who will be able to assist you.
Bishopthorpe Road continues to operate a one way system. Please allow extra time for travelling and parking to ensure attending appointments on time. If you are running late please contact the salon at the earliest convenience to discuss your options. For update restrictions please visit
